SHIPPING: why some countries are served? what about FedEx?

To ensure reliable tracking from origin to your doorstep, rewards are split into two main groups:

—-GROUP A: small/medium packages in weight (under 2kg 4.4lb gross)

• USA: Shipping with USPS. • International: Shipped with Asendia, offering end-to-end tracking to specific countries only. • Shipping fees are applied for both. • EU-friendly means that the customs will not ask you VAT or import taxes if the reward is under €150. Please read FAQ about EU friendly shipping.

List of countries with end-to-end tracking for Group A:

USA, EUROPEAN UNION, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom (includes Isle of Men), Iceland, Norway, Gibraltar, Switzerland, Türkiye, San Marino, Isle of Man, Serbia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Brazil, Réunion, Israel, Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, South Korea, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, China.

—-GROUP B: all other bundles (above 2kg 4.4lb gross).

• USA: Free shipping with USPS, UPS or FedEx (depends on size and weight). • International: Exclusively shipped via FedEx worldwide

—-GROUP C: Add-ons The add-ons have incorporated the shipping fee that compensates the weight increase of the package, therefore an added deck costs a little more than the one in a reward. No additional shipping fees for any of the add-ons.

Please note that some countries, such as Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, almost the whole African continent, and others, may not be serviced by FedEx. For countries like China with complex import procedures, please consider using a forwarder with a US address for smoother delivery.

Charges applied by customs are not refundable.

Your satisfaction is our priority, and I aim to make the shipping process as straightforward as possible.

The fulfillment center will evaluate the best and safest way to ship out a parcel. If you picked the Early Bird Trio and added a lot of things, it might be shipped with FedEx. However, check the bundles because the prices are better and you get a better deal for the same amount of items.

SHIPPING FEES: not just stamps

After Covid-19, the Suez Canal incident, and the current world situation, shipping has become slower and more expensive. As you may have experienced with your online purchases, in some cases, the shipping cost is higher than the price tag of the item.

For this campaign, part of the fixed fulfillment costs (storage, packing material, packing labor) is incorporated into the reward price. Other costs - variables - include the stamps, and they depend on the destination. Unfortunately shipping rates are not negotiable, and I can offer the lowest rate possible, thanks to the Fulfillment center’s special deals with the carriers.

For international shipping, specific rewards must be shipped with FedEx because the packages - including extra protection - are quite heavy (above 2kg 4.4lb), and we absolutely need a reliable tracking number with a detailed tracing history.

Check the rewards description, you will find good deals.

SHIPPING: What does EU-friendly mean?

[EU = countries of the European Union] For packages shipped from outside the EU and under €150 in value, customs are not allowed to ask you for VAT or import taxes. This is due to a relatively new EU regulation called One Stop Shop.

Read how it works on the official EU website: https://vat-one-stop-shop.ec.europa.eu/index_en

The same applies to the Stockholm17 online store, as VAT is included in the price tag. I will pay VAT on your behalf (only for EU countries), which is why customs are not supposed to ask you for import fees and VAT.

For orders above €150, I cannot not guarantee this. It has happened a couple of times that a package was stopped for inspection.

SHIPPING: customs and declared value

When it is time to fulfill, it is important to understand that:

• It is not possible to mark a package as a gift. • It is not possible to declare an unreasonably low value. • Customs charges and VAT charges might occur, and they are not refundable. • Rejected/returned packages can be reshipped upon payment of an additional shipping fee.

SHIPPING uncut sheets, prints and decks, why multiple packages?

To ensure a safe transit, certain items need to be shipped separately. Uncut sheets (cards) must be shipped in a tube as they are 66x58cm in size. The prints of the uncut tuckboxes should be shipped in a rigid mailer to maintain their flatness. In cases where your reward includes multiple items and the packing box is sizable, the prints of the uncut tuckboxes can be packed together with the decks.

Custom 6-deck box vs Windwatchers Tower?

The custom box is called “Windwatcher Tower” as it resembles a megalithic tower.

The Custom 6-deck box is automatically included in specific rewards once the stretch goal is achieved. These rewards will explicitly mention the “custom 6-deck box” in their list.

This box transforms the 6 loose decks (2 Gibborim, 2 Malakim, 2 Nephilim) into what I call The Windwatchers Tower. This is essentially a custom box that neatly holds the 6 decks in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Once the stretch goal is reached, you will also have the option to add the Windwatcher Tower (6 decks + box) as an extra item. This means anyone can include one or more Windwatcher Towers to their pledge as an add-on.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to add an empty box or customize the contents of the box.

Are the items form The Eye of the Ocean Part 1 available?

The decks are currently sold out; however, you may still find them available on eBay. This campaign will not include the decks and items from the first part, with the exception of the Astrolabe, which is also a crucial component of the Orbis Triplex. There is a possibility that The Eye of the Ocean decks (Solis&Lunæ) could be reprinted in the future, considering their recognition with two awards as the Deck of the Year 2022.

Why the Windwatcher deck is not available as add-on?

(aka Windwatcher Edition LTD700) The Windwatcher variant was exclusively crafted for patrons on the Stockholm17 Patreon page, where a subscription model with monthly payments and multiple high-tier options is offered. Specifically designed for these patrons, the Windwatcher deck was delivered to them in December 2023. A limited quantity of 70 units was set aside for this campaign, providing an opportunity for those who missed out initially to acquire this unique variant.

Do not confuse Windwatcher Editioin LTD700 (which is poker size) with the mini size. The windwatcher mini size is part of this campaign and it is not a limited deck.

Are the tuck boxes seen in the intro video and the picture the final version?

Absolutely! I’ve made a substantial financial investment to ensure that every intricate detail is showcased prominently.

Last updated: February 23, 2024 03:43

Add-ons: how to they work?

ADD-ON = items added on top of your selected reward.

You can include these items during or after pledging. First, choose a reward, then add your desired items.

If you want to add items AFTER you pledged, simply click the ‘manage your pledge’ button – it works like a typical online store.

What does ARCHAEOFANTASY mean?

As far as I know there is no widely recognized or established genre known as archaeofantasy. HOWEVER, the term is the combination of archaeology+fantasy, therefore a genre that combines elements of ancient or historical settings with fantasy elements. It involves storytelling that incorporates mythical creatures, or fantastical elements within a framework inspired by historical or ancient contexts. Long story short: I created and alternative ancient antedeluvian world with the existing historical and mythological characters and chronicles.

BOOK: Is the book in colors or black and white?

Colors on all the pages. This because I am mimicking an old book and the pages got a warm/yellowish texture and tones. All the court cards (part 1 and part 2) will be in the book in big, together with many sketches and illustrations.

Last updated: February 23, 2024 08:02

BOOK: who wrote the novel?

The initial concept and synopsis were contributed by me, Lorenzo, and the narrative was expertly crafted by Sara Lilley and Mara S. Akram. They are the talented writers behind the development of the story and the creation of most of the characters. Their skills brought the novel to life through their eloquent writing.

I played a supporting role by providing inputs and detailed sketches of the world within the Eye of the Ocean. This included descriptions of some locations, landmarks, and technical details necessary for them to fully grasp the setting, visualize the island, and understand the mechanics of the artifacts.

Collectively, the authors of this work are Sara Lilley, Mara S. Akram, and myself.

Last updated: February 28, 2024 00:14

BOOK: Can part 2 of the novel be sold separately?

Not possible. Both parts are consolidated in a Tomus Unicum. If you’ve read part one, simply resume the reading, as a stand-alone second volume won’t be cheaper than the unified version.

Last updated: February 28, 2024 00:14

BOOK: Will the novel be sold on Amazon or in book stores?

No, this is a special edition exclusively for the Kickstarter campaign. If the project evolves and a publisher expresses interest in releasing ‘The Eye of the Ocean’ novel, the text will likely undergo revisions, and the illustrations may be removed or significantly reduced. Self-publishing on Amazon is not a viable option due to their high fees and next-to-zero author royalties.

Last updated: February 28, 2024 00:14

BOOK: audio book and/or digital version as ebook or PDF?

The campaign does no offer the digital version of the novel. The audio book It is in the plans, but not for this Kickstarter campaign.

QUEST: how does it work?

After obtaining all the necessary items, the puzzle begins on a designated page with a riddle, followed by the Tabula Ænigmatis. Additional instructions, details on prize assignments, and deadlines will be communicated exclusively through Kickstarter updates.

ORBIS TRIPLEX runs with batteries?

No, the animation shows only what are the moving parts. The Orbis Triplex has 3 moving parts and one fixed. The 3 external rings are fixed, the astrolabe, the arms, and the dial on the top can rotate. The tuning fork is a loose piece necessary for the quest can be plugged in the top dial.

DECKS: Are the decks printed as limited edition? How many will be printed?

The Windwatcher Edition is limited to 700 units, each uniquely numbered and signed on the box.

Currently, Gibborim, Malakim, and Nephilim editions are not limited. The quantity of printed decks is determined by Kickstarter orders, with extras available in the Stockholm17 online shop for late backers. Please note that prices will be higher for those who did not participate in the Kickstarter campaign.

Last updated: March 01, 2024 08:17

DECKS: Signatures on decks or preferred LTD edition number

Decks cannot be signed. In case of LTD edition number it is not possible to request a specific number.

T-shirts, apparel, posters, art prints, home decor

Selling t-shirts on Kickstarter is not feasible. Prints face similar challenges due to the numerous variables related to dimensions, paper formats, and the added hassle of shipping.

However, you can purchase prints of the Eye of the Ocean map on Society6, a print-on-demand platform: https://society6.com/requiemcards

For apparel and t-shirts, you can explore options on Threadless: https://stockholm17.threadless.com/

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

NEW!  EU-FRIENDLY PARCELS FROM THE US

On July 1st 2021 EU introduced a new system called IOSS (Import One Stop Shop).
When you purchase items at Stockholm17 online store the VAT is included. The VAT amount is paid and declared by Stockholm17 to your country.

Even if the EU introduced this system in July 2021, the customs of all EU countries took very long time to change their procedure of sorting parcels with these properties.

The parcel is shipped from Texas with a special code (IOSS code) that is digitally transmitted to the postal customs of your country. The customs are not allowed to charge VAT to the receiver of the parcels for orders under €150 (shipping included).

Stockholm17 is currently and correctly registered as IOSS shipper.

It is possible that the postal customs inspects the package as standard procedure.

You can read more about IOSS at the European Commission website, click here

IMPORT FEES MIGHT BE APPLIED BY CUSTOMS DEPENDING ON THE COUNTRY.
